Kepler : The G.P.U Architecture

Nvidia has taken its G.P.U architecture to the next level and calling it the kepler architecture. It caught the eyes of many people when it was introduced on the first place. So here is an explanation how this architecture is different from the others and better from its previous counterpart………..

This architecture is basically the technology NVIDIA is going to use for the next two years and it covers all from using it on ultra-books, servers, high performance PC’s, etc. This GPU architecture not only makes the world most powerfull G.P.U but it also the most power efficient because of its frame by frame approach. This technology focuses on two main aspects of why people will choose NVIDIA in the near future………First is the power used by the GPU, because all the games were satisfied by the performance of the GTX 480 but they wanted it to be more power efficient and quieter as well…………….Secondly the performance, as it is a new technology a performance boost is almost expected, so nvidia has managed to increase the performance part of the GPU by increasing the clock speed and keeping it in the budget as well.

The GeForce GTX 680 GPU is made up of 3.54 billion transistors. The entire chip has been designed for optimal performance per watt.

Here is a Graph showing the improvement in power consumption-

Features like Adaptive Vsync, TXAA, Nvidia Surround Sound and more it makes this architecture better than most of what its competitors have.

Here is a video which shows the Kepler Technology-

This is what NVIDIA concludes -

“Kepler is the outcome of over four years of research and development by some of the best and brightest engineers at NVIDIA. We hope you’ll have as much fun gaming on our new GPU as we had building it.”
