Twitter – What’s New?

Twitter made two big changes to the way it presents to people. First the twitter’s mobile website uses 33% less bandwidth comparing to the one that they released in December. By this the company aims to make twitter a more better experience for all its users. Users that work on low bandwidth or have old browsers and have feature phones will be able to access it more easily. The new version of the mobile site will give all the major features and wouldn’t be any different than its previous version except on speed terms. Since majority of people use feature phones it makes easy for them to use this service.

Secondly Twitter also launched its App for iPhone named Twitpic . The acquirement of Instagram by Facebook overshadows this applications launch by twitter to make its own standalone. I think the Twitter should have launched this app earlier as now it faces fierce competetion from the others. Twitter’s Twitpic however has a user base of 35 million but it still depends on the users for how long they will stick to it or will be choosing the many others that are better than this.
