Youtube Video getting reloaded in 480p when fullscreen?
What is the most annoying feature of YouTube?
Many of you will agree that it is the recently added feature due to which whenever I switch the video to full screen, the playback is automatically switched to 480p or HD and full video starts re-buffering. Some of us have slow connections and we wait for lots of time for video to buffer before we start watching it. And when we toggle fullscreen, all that is buffered is lost as video switches to better quality automatically. Even if you have a fast connection this might not waste much time but it does consume a lot of extra bandwidth because whole video is reloaded.
Fix for this annoying feature:
Fix 1- This is the simplest way for everyone. Whenever you open the video, set the desired quality in which video should be buffered, manually. The problem is that most will forget to do this.
Fix 2- There is a option in youtube playback settings which allows us to specify if the video should be reloaded or not. For this you should be signed in. Go to Youtube settings and select Playback Settings. There are three options (see image below). Select the toption *I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality video.*
The only problem with this fix is that it works for videos on YouTube only. If you are viewing a video embedded on some other sites then it may not work.
